While no day is typical, every day leads to sol searching! (Video is at bottom of this page)
Flybridge of Sol Searcher, our Iliad 62 Power Catamaran.
“This is where the magic happens” says Captain Art, referring to the Flybridge of the Iliad 62.
We started our true journeying with Sol Searcher in the fall of 2022 with a 6 week meandering path around the Whitsunday Islands of the central to south Great Barrier Reef. And how can a trip on THE REEF yield any kind of typical day?! Every day is beautiful, even the rainy ones. We fell in love with The Reef and Australia on our first big voyage.
But Sol Searcher is a boat which must keep moving, she is not meant to be in port for long, or spend too many days at anchor in one place. Her SOuL yearns to GO. So her travels will take us a variety of places around the world. But for now, in early 2023 she remains off the East coast of Australia. She is well cared for and loved by Captain Art, and First Mate Cindy when her owners are not aboard.
Bob and Dee travel back and forth from Florida and hope for this to become a pattern for their explorations. A bit of time here exploring, a bit of time at home with family and friends. In December, they welcomed their second grandson, Owen. He is a sweet baby brother for Sammy. Dee wants these videos to be something they can watch as they grow up, and she and Bob really hopes to incorporate their family into their travels as time progresses.
